If you have using water filter all the while in your household, I believe you surely have experience in changing the water filter cartridge. Well, I had been using water filter for almost 20 years and my water filter experience of changing the cartridge had needless to say, a piece of cake!

Well, changing the cartridge. is indeed very easy. You should change the cartridge. at least every 6 month to maintain the effectiveness of your water filter. It is useless to have water filter if you never change its cartridge. Cartridge is the main part when it comes to filtering all those dirt and chemical. All the chemical and dirt will stick to the filter cartridge and maintaining it is very important to assure we have the clean water every time.

In order to change the cartridge, you will need a piece of clean cloth, water filters cartridge. replacement, silicon lubricants and sump wrenches.

First, you should ensure that the cold-water water valve is closed. Then, release the pressure in the line by turning on the hot and cold water, leave it open for a while. Some water filter model have the vent valve ready on the top and you only need to press it to release the pressure.

Using a sump wrench, turn the sump close wise to loosen it and remove it. Please be extra careful on this step as it likely to have full of water. Then, locate the set aside on the O-ring seal. Remove the old filter cartridge. from your water filter machine.

clean up the machine first using the clean cloth to ensure that it is clean. Then, using the silicon lubricant, grease the O-ring. Make sure that it seats completely in the groove.

Line up the sump on the head, and screw it back like how you loosen it. Tighten it up by turning counter clockwise.

Repeat these step on the other sump if you have more than one unit of water filter. after you’ve done, switch on the water valve slower and fill the water. Make sure your leave your water run at least 5 minutes to clear out carbon particles in the cartridge.
